Meet Barkha Soni
Founder & Creative Director, Barkha Boutique — Kishangarh & Makrana
Barkha Soni is the founder of Barkha Boutique, a premium women's ethnic and western-wear label with flagship stores in Madanganj-Kishangarh and Makrana, Rajasthan. Over the years, she has built more than a fashion business — she has become a trusted name in her community, recognised as much for her design sensibility as for her work in women's empowerment and civic engagement.
Community & Leadership
Barkha has been an active member of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Makrana chapter — a national socio-cultural organisation dedicated to community service and cultural preservation. Through her involvement with BVP, she has contributed to local welfare initiatives and cultural programmes across Nagaur district.
She has worked for the upliftment of women across Makrana and Kishangarh for many years — through community gatherings, skill workshops, and encouraging local women to build livelihoods in design, tailoring, and retail. A large part of Barkha Boutique's team is women hired from the local community.
She is a familiar face at social, cultural, and civic events across Makrana and Kishangarh, often invited as a guest or speaker at community functions, festivals, and women-led initiatives.
Recognition
Barkha has been recognised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) under its Emerging Designer Track — India's premier platform for emerging fashion talent.
She is also a member of the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Jaipur Chapter — FICCI's national forum for women entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Design Philosophy
"We don't design clothes — we design your dreams." Every bridal lehenga, every Banarasi saree, every kurta set that leaves Barkha Boutique is treated as a moment in a customer's life, not a transaction. The label works closely with Rajasthani artisans and local tailors to keep traditional craftsmanship alive while building silhouettes that today's women actually want to wear.
